"Clothing The Cold" Abbott Ministries Society distributes all types of clothing to needy men and women. The most requested items are sleeping bags and blankets, although ALL items of clothing are requested, including shoes and boots. We also give out personal hygiene items for men and women such as tooth brushes, razors, deodorant, soap etc. We also give items for infants and children such as toys and clothing. Many of the people that we serve live on the streets and even summer nights get cold when they are sleeping on the ground. We are happy to receive donations of items or cash. "Feed The Hungry" This is a MOBILE street ministry division of Abbott Ministries Society. Many of the people served by this ministry are not even welcome in the skid road soup kitchens. We have been told by these poor hungry people, “I have not eaten in two days” and “You are saving lives down here”, and on one Christmas day morning, “All you guys love us.” We prepare and serve a hot and very nourishing soup, along with fresh fruit, pastries, bread and other assorted foods as they become available to us. This ministry primarily serves in the heart of Canada’s HIV/drug capital at Main and Hastings Street, and also serves the Greater Vancouver Regional District and goes where there is the GREATEST NEED. This ministry division of Abbott Ministries Society is also available for EMERGENCY DISASTER RELIEF. We need help to pay for the fuel, insurance, bowls, lids, spoons and other associated out of pocket operating expenses. If the “Feed The Hungry” ministry touches your heart, please donate now.
